Recycling and raise money for the school!
Imagine if we mentioned a fundraiser in the Hilton Insight, Suburban News, and on the school's web site; a place to recycle cell phones, pda's, ink cartridges etc. and all of the funds were donated to the school? Please read more:

Recycling & Consumption Committee
Hello everyone!
To those of you who are unaware from the outcome of our past meeting (May 13), I will be leading the committee of "Recycling & Consumption". This committee is one of three sub committees that has been formed as a result of the online survey.
This committee will be concentrating on the efforts of reducing waste (solid & energy) as well as recycling the waste generated. The HCSD is very open to new ideas and I am personally glad they have allowed "US" as citizens to become involved in such an important task(s).
I am fully aware that the summer is approaching and vacations will permit the dwindling of volunteerism, but this is a critical time to discuss and implement new policies and/or procedures for the upcoming school year. These policies and/or procedures first must be:
1. An Idea
2. Written and/or presented to the School Board
3. Implemented
4. Monitored for success and/or failure
I would like to know who is interested in serving on this committee? and then I will contact the school and set up a time/place for us to meet. The first meeting of this sub committee will be held around the week of June 15-19, 2009.
If you would like to contact me my information is on my user profile "jcolline".
Thank You! and I look forward to working with all of you in making our school/environment a better place.

Rooftop windmills
Wouldn't it be great to see these on every school building rooftop?
