Meeting Changed

Hi all,

I received emails from several of you who could not make the meeting scheduled on May 5th due to the annual American Wind Energy Association annual conference in Chicago. I also learned that a District Improvement Team (DIT) meeting was scheduled on May 5th in the Board Room but was not put on the calendar and now the room is double-booked.

For these reasons I am going to move the meeting to Wednesday, May 13th at 7:00 PM in the Board Room.

Hope to see you there. If you have any questions please feel free to email or call me.

Webcast

Hi all,

On Thursday, April 16, 2009 the U.S. Department of Energy is providing a webcast on the Advanced Energy Design Guide for K-12 school buildings. The guide provides recommendations based on climate zones to help K-12 school owners and designers make smart energy investments to achieve 30% energy savings over baseline standard in both new and renovation building projects.

I was approached by a member of our Long Range Planning committee and encouraged to sign up for this webcast and invite any interested members of the committee to join us.

The webcast begins at 1:00 PM in the Board of Education room at the Quest Elementary School. It is a 90 minute presentation with a 30 minute question and answer session to follow.

If you can make it and have an interest please feel free to attend. Hope to see you there.

Green Initiative in other Districts

I was wondering if anyone at the Hilton School District has checked with other school districts in Monroe County to see if they have started any green initiatives regarding any of the topics we covered at the kickoff meeting.
